What is EXCHANGETASKS 2013?
Microsoft Exchange Server 2013 and 2010 are great scalable messaging solutions for small, medium and enterprise organizations, but with all their wonderful advantages they lack one thing almost every system and messaging administrator requires: A familiar management tool.
Most administrators were used to manage their messaging environments using a single management interface, The Active Directory Users and Computers MMC Snap-In. Previous Exchange versions extended this snap-in to include some Exchange management functionality. Neither Exchange Server 2010 nor 2013 extend the ADUC snap-in: Exchange 2010 has it's own stand-alone management interface, The Exchange Management Console, which in Exchange 2013 is not included anymore.
U-BTech's EXCHANGETASKS 2013 extends the ADUC snap-in to include all the great management tools and screens we have all gotten used to over the years, with some major improvements like Bulk Exchange commands & operations for multiple objects selected, even whole Active Directory Containers !
The installation is very simple and requires no modification to Active Directory schema or configuration. Once the product has been installed, it is accessed in the same fashion as all the previous built-in management tools using the ADUC snap-in.
EXCHANGETASKS 2013 uses Microsoft Exchange Server 2010/2013’s built in WinRM capabilities to remotely and securely manage your Exchange servers without the need to locally install the management tools. This also allows you to manage your Exchange 2010/2013 recipients from a 32bit version of Microsoft Windows as well as 64bit versions. At least one Exchange 2010/2013 CAS server is required to work with EXCHANGETASKS 2013. EXCHANGETASKS 2013 supports hybrid Office 365 deployments (Exchange on-premise + Exchange online/Office 365).

Installing EXCHANGETASKS 2013
- Windows 7 or higher O/S (either 32bit or x64)
- Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.2 or higher
- Either an on-premise Exchange 2010 or 2013 server, or a configured DirSync-enabled Office 365 tenant.
- The ADUC console (either built-in or from RSAT)
- Logged-in user must have access to Active Directory and On-Premise Exchange Servers (if applicable).
Downloading and Installing:
- If Exchange Tasks 2010 or Exchange Tasks 2007 is installed, we recommend removing it first (although they can be installed side-by-side).
- Download Exchange Tasks 2013 (EXE file)
- Run the EXE installer as a user with local privileges.
Getting Started with EXCHANGETASKS 2013
Launch Active Directory Users and Computers
You can launch the well-known management console by double-clicking the "Exchange Tasks 2013" icon on your desktop.
Setup an Exchange or Office 365 Connection
Before using the product for the first time, you will have to setup a connection to Exchange or Office 365. A new "Exchange On Premise" connection is created by default. To connect to Office 365 or configure advanced connection options, right-click the "Exchange On Premise" connection on the left node and select "Edit Connection Settings..." from the context menu.
Use Extended Property Sheets for Existing Objects
Either double click a user, a group or a contact object or right-click it and select "Properties" to display extended property sheets that let you configure Exchange-related settings for your recipients.
Perform Bulk Operations ("Tasks") on Multiple Objects
Right-click one or more objects, select "All Tasks" and then "Exchange Tasks 2013..." to perform multiple actions on selected objects.
Objects of multiple types can be selected altogether. If one or more container object (OU or Group) is selected, tasks can be applied to all child objects as well.
Create new Exchange Objects
Right-click a container, select "New" and then "New Exchange Object..." to create new Exchange objects (Mailbox, Mail User, Distribution Group etc.) in the selected container.
